When thinking about the data that is collected across the curriculum, this project got my mental wheels turning about the curriculum area of social studies. Taking into consideration that this required subject is not part of high stakes testing, the need to collect evaluative data on the elementary level is one that is commonly overlooked in the shadow of emphasized subjects such as Math and Language Arts.
I hope you enjoy the project; I learned a lot from the research needed to put it together. I enjoyed reading the articles and studies authored on the curriculum area and the resources available to teachers on all grade levels.
